Karina Morales

Karina is a senior at Curie High School who is academically and socially involved in and outside of school. Apart from being on the newspaper staff, she is also in the Latinos Juntos and National Honor Society.  She takes her academics very seriously and strives to maintain high grades. Therefore, she participates at Metro, a program outside of school that helps her improve in school. She is an enthusiastic person who has a passion to learn new things. She loves to spend her free time eating ice cream with friends, running or listening to music.

Lisa is a senior at Curie High School. Web design is her CTE major, and she enjoying making and designing websites. Other than that, she enjoys reading and taking pictures in her free time. She’s been interested in writing and journalism for three years now.

She is a 17-year-old girl who enjoys photography. She loves doing her makeup and looks like a little glazed doughnut every time she does her face. She is a great person to be around.

She is a 16-year-old girl who can’t play eight ball to save her life, but will always be there for you. She is smoother than butter and a really fun, charismatic person to be around. Her sign is Cancer which means she has a lot of great qualities like she being tenacious, highly imaginative, loyal, emotional, sympathetic and persuasive.

Jose Mata is 16 year old who attends  Curie High School. He is in the AVID program. He is the only child of two immigrants born in Jalisco, Mexico. He was born in Chicago and has lived here his whole life.

Laura Soto is a senior at Curie Metropolitan High School. This is her first year learning about journalism. Laura is passionate about makeup, dogs, books, and her job. She is interested in majoring in creative writing after high school.

Leslie Vazquez is a senior at Curie and a proud Condor. She enjoys the show One Tree Hill and playing soccer. She loves the color yellow. Her dedication is put to being a top reporter for the school newspaper. Leslie has been a part of the Curie soccer team since her freshman year. Another hobby she has is gymnastics. She’s shy at first, but great to get to know. With a great smile and personality, she plans to win the hearts of the readers.

Oscar is a senior at Curie High School. He is an average student. He loves playing soccer and playing video games. He has lived his whole life in Chicago, and he loves his city. He is a photographer in his journalism class.

Rickey Mitchell Jr. is a senior at Curie High School. Rick is a student athlete who is self-driven and a hard worker. Rick is a three-year varsity football player with numerous accomplishments and awards. Rick believes hard work beats talent when talent fails to work. Rick works for everything. Rick hopes to take football as far as it goes in the future. Once football is over, he wants to influence young student athletes’ lives as a football coach. Rick enjoys sports and just having fun with family and friends.
